Anthem 5K Fitness Classic
The race will start promptly at 8:00 AM. (Wheelchair participants will begin one minute prior). The Start line is located near the intersection of Witherspoon and Preston, at the rear of Slugger Field Stadium. The race will finish on Main Street in front of Slugger Field Stadium.Course Info
The start line is located on River Road just north of the I-64 overpass. Runners should line up on Preston Street, with walkers lining up on Witherspoon Street (just behind Slugger Field Stadium). The course runs east along River Road, parallel to the Ohio River. Turning south, the course passes around the historic Heigold House brick facade. It then winds through the historic neighborhood of Butchertown, before finishing on Main Street in front of Slugger Field Stadium.Course Restrictions
Absolutely no participant is allowed on the course prior to 8:00 AM (EDT). Any participant on the race course before 8:00 AM will be asked to leave the course.For the safety of all participants, the following are prohibited from the course at all times:
- Roller or Inline Skates
- Strollers
- Bicycles (including Hand Crank Bicycles)
- Animals (No Pets)
- Any gas or electrical operated vehicle, i.e. motor scooters
Race officials reserve the right to disqualify or remove from the course any participant whose activity violates any condition set fourth above or who poses a potential harm to himself/herself or any other participant.
Runners have 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete the course (by 9:30 AM). Finish line area facilities will officially close at that time.
Parking
Race Day ParkingBe sure to allow plenty of time on race morning to find parking. Packet Pickup closes at 7:30 AM and the race will begin promptly at 8:00 AM.
Parking Options
Slugger Field East Lot - Limited parking is available in the east parking lot at Slugger Field. You must use Jackson Street via Market Street to access the east parking lot on race morning.
Pay Lot - A pay lot is available west of Slugger Field between Preston and Floyd Streets. Use Floyd Street via Market Street to access the parking lot. Be aware that access to the lot can back up in the hour prior to the start of the race.
Parking Garages
There are two 2,500-car garages located within walking distance to Slugger Field.
One garage is located on Witherspoon, about five blocks from Slugger Field.
One garage is on Brook Street, between Washington and Witherspoon. This garage is two blocks from Slugger Field.
Street Parking
On street parking is available around Slugger Field. Due to street closing on race morning, it is suggested that you use on street parking west on Floyd Street or south of Main Street.
Restrooms
Portable restrooms are located near the start and finish lines. Near the start line, they are placed on the plaza at the intersection of Preston and Witherspoon streets. Portable restrooms are also located in the parking lot east of Slugger Field near the finish line.
